Media Life Analysis
One of the most valuable services we offer is Media Life Analysis, where we test media samples taken from customer units to determine how much life remains in the filtration media. This service is complimentary to all PureAir customers and can also be performed on competitor media, allowing anyone to collect and send samples to PureAir for analysis.
Why is this important?
- Customers can prevent any breakthrough before media is fully spent, avoiding nuisance odors, corrosive gases damaging electronics, and complaints from neighbors.
- Regular testing (recommended every 3-6 months) ensures that media is replaced at the right time, neither too soon nor too late.
- Customers can save money by avoiding unnecessary media changeouts while maximizing the media’s lifespan.

Corrosion Diagnosis Services
Understanding the severity of corrosive contaminants in an environment is essential for protecting equipment and maintaining safe air quality. PureAir provides Corrosivity Testing Kits (CTKs) to assess the types and concentrations of corrosive gases within a facility.
How does it work?
- Customers place CTKs in areas of concern within their facility for 30 days.
- The CTKs, containing strips of silver and copper, react with corrosive gases over time.
- After 30 days, customers ship the CTKs back to PureAir for laboratory evaluation.
- The lab determines the corrosion severity based on ASHRAE guidelines:
G1 – Mild
G2 – Moderate
G3 – Harsh
GX – Severe
ASHREA guidelines state that in any environment with levels higher than G1, gas-phase filtration in the controlled environment is highly recommended.
This service helps customers identify “hot spots” and determine the need for gas-phase filtration to prevent equipment damage and ensure optimal air quality.
Routine Quality Control and Quality Assurance (QC/QA)
PureAir’s lab tests every batch of media manufactured in-house to ensure it meets the highest quality standards before being shipped to customers.

A customer contacted PureAir needing a solution for filtering vapors from Aromatic 150 and Chlorpyrifos, two herbicide ingredients with volatile and toxic properties. Aromatic 150 contains hydrocarbons, while Chlorpyrifos is an organophosphate insecticide—both requiring proper filtration for workplace safety.
After analyzing these gases and their properties, our team confirmed that AC-X media, while primarily used for gases like Nitric Dioxide, Chlorine, and Dichloroethane, also effectively captures these compounds due to its chemical composition and adsorptive properties. With a capacity of 20% or more, AC-X provided the reliable solution they needed for their six indoor pick-up points.
