Media Modules, Canisters & Filters
PureAir® has developed a versatile line of modules, canisters, and filters designed to effectively remove contaminants and odorous gases for various applications. The use of multiple chemisorbant media types allows customers to target specific contaminants, ensuring efficient removal for a wide range of range of pollutants. Each option is adaptable, allowing for customization based on specific application requirements. All are designed to be interchangeable with existing filtration system for customers looking for a stop-gap solution that doesn’t require a complete system overhaul.
PurePak Modules (PP12 & PP18):
PureAir developed the PurePak modules to provide customers with a quick and clean method to changeout the media in air purification systems. These disposable modules are constructed of 0.125” thick black, high-impact, recyclable polystyrene and can be filled with any of PureAir chemisorbant media. The modules, which are only sold in pairs, fit seamlessly into competitor units.

FACILITY TYPE: Subway Extension Project – Tunneling
LOCATION: Los Angeles, California
EQUIPMENT/MEDIA USED: PurePak Modules (PP12) and Sulphasorb XL™ chemisorbant media
PROBLEM: The City of Los Angeles was deep tunneling for the Westside Subway Extension Project, which is near the La Brea Tar pits, and needed a solution to combat the high H2S levels they expected would be released into the air during the tunneling process. Once drilling began, they experienced other noxious odors that needed to be removed from the air, including VOCs, sulfur compounds, and mercaptans.
SOLUTION: PureAir® provided the City of Los Angeles with 641 – PP12 modules filled with Sulphasorb XL™ chemisorbant media for each of their existing gas-phase system (3,846 PP12 modules total) that have been successful at keeping the odors out of the air.
Matrix™ Filter:
Carbon based adsorbent media matrix blocks are encased in a recycled galvanized frame and screen for installing into various filtration systems, providing superior performance of PureAir chemisorbant media. The matrix blocks have an extruded monolithic carbon structure that can be made of either PureAir AC-X media, Ammoniasorb® media, or Sulphasorb 2™ media. The size and shape of the monolithic structure of the cells leads to turbulent flow and superior performance. The filter allows for no bypass and a very low pressure drop creating total air filtration with efficient energy use. The Matrix™ filter is perfect for retrofit applications.

Honeycomb Filter:
The Honeycomb Filter is a thinner option to the Matrix™ filter, and for applications that need a blend of various media to remove unwanted gases. The filters are offered in a variety of dimensions, 1″, 2″, or 4″ depths, depending on the space and pressure drop requirements, which can be filled with a variety of chemisorbant media. The filter is disposable, easy to use, and an excellent choice for retrofit applications. Filter volume can be at 50%, 75%, and 100% media, depending on the filtration and air resistance constraints.

Chemisorbant Media Filter:
The Chemisorbant Pleated Media Filter is designed to prevent unpleasant odors and gaseous pollutants from entering a building’s HVAC system. A patented material suspends PureAir chemisorbant media in a synthetic web filter technology with even pleat spacing for maximum airflow. The deep pleat filter design maximizes surface area for important first pass removal efficiency. Both box style and single header frames are available for seamless retrofit into existing units or new installations.

Canister:
Loose-filled, thin-bed canisters provide effective removal of contaminated or odorous air. PureAir canisters are custom filled with a variety of chemisorbant media to remove targeted gases. This long lasting, corrosion resistant, and leak free canister comes in galvanized steel or plastic, making it a fit for any applications requiring the removal of modest contaminant levels in industrial and light commercial environments.
